IPT in Utility Rows
Brush control of woody plant species within ROW areas is critical to maintain safe, reliable and accessible infrastructure for our nation’s roadsides and electrical, gas and water services. With Method® 240SL’s supplemental label, you no longer need to switch tank mixes to treat undesirable woody plants and brush on ROW sites transecting grazed areas. Learn More About Method 240SL for Brush Control
As a broad-spectrum, post-emergent herbicide, Method 240SL may be applied by ground equipment for control of undesirable woody plants (brush), including many terrestrial and riparian invasive and noxious weeds. It is registered for use on private, public and military lands: your go-to difficult-to-control broadleaf and brush species solution.
Individual Plant Treatment and Method 240SL
Method 240SL herbicide may be used to treat undesirable woody plants using individual plant treatment (IPT) methods in vegetation management sites transecting areas grazed by livestock. Control with IPT applications are often more effective than broadcast treatments, reducing the risk of off-target herbicide movement and reducing costs under the right conditions when compared to broadcast treatments.
How to Use Individual Plant Treatment
Leaf Sprays
Leaf sprays are applied to the foliage of target plants.
Stem Sprays
Stem sprays are applied to the basal stems of target plants.
Cut Stump Sprays
Cut stump applications are made to the cut surface of the target plant.Supporting Wildlife Habitats with IPT
Selective IPT applications (versus broadcast treatments) are proven to protect important wildlife habitat and encourage the development of native grasses and forbs. Additionally, Method 240SL mimics effects on the plant’s own enzymes and blocks the growth of plants by interfering with the hormonal balance, benefiting insects and other wildlife by removing non-native weeds and brush, while allowing beneficial native plants to flourish.
